Visit to National Bank
of Serbia
The
members of the team that will represent the University of Belgrade Faculty of
Law at the 19th annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial
Arbitration Moot, accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Mirko
Vasiljević, Prof. Dr. Gašo Knežević, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Pavić and lecturers
Milena Đorđević and Marko Jovanović visited the National Bank of Serbia
on Wednesday,
March 14, 2012.
The
students first visited the Museum of the National Bank, were they had a chance
to discover the importance and the rich past of this institution. After the
visit to the Museum, the students and their professors were received by the
Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Dejan Šoškić, and his
associates: Ms. Ljiljana Veljić, Manager of the Compliance and Operational Risk
Control Department, Mr. Mirko Petrović, General Manager of the Legal Department,
Prof. Dr. Jelena Perović, consultant for international contracts to the Governor
and Mr. Andrej Jankovic, assistant for legal and economic affairs to the
Governor.
During
the reception, the Governor Šoškić evoked the links between law and economics
and commended the activities of our Faculty in the field of promotion of legal
education and due representation of our country abroad. On behalf of the Faculty
of Law, the Dean Prof. Dr. Mirko Vasiljević thanked the Governor Šoškić for the
support of the National Bank of Serbia to the preparation of our team and
emphasized that our Faculty is truly honored by this reception. Our students
briefly introduced the Governor and his associates to the plan of their
preparations for the Moot and explained what challenges they will face in a
couple of weeks in Vienna.
At the end of the reception, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Mirko
Vasiljević presented the Governor Šoškić with the tokens of gratitude of our
Faculty for the help and support of the National Bank and invited the Governor
to take part at the Belgrade Open Pre-Moot that will take place next week-end at
our Faculty. The Governor and his associates thanked our students for their
visited and wished them the best of luck and success in the Moot in Vienna which
will take place in the period of 30 March – 5 April 2012.
